Il tartufo di Molière



Visto domenica 11 marzo alla Pergola.  Mi sono divertito. Quanti tartufi intorno a noi, in Parlamento...Ma il più costoso e ricco sta alla Casa Bianca col suo Presidential prayer team. (1)


Anche Molière fu tartufato, l'ultima volta, con l'aiuto del Re. In questo modo:


Molière morì il 17 febbraio 1673 di tubercolosi mentre recitava Il malato immaginario, prima di morire aveva recitato a fatica, coprì la tosse - si disse - con una risata forzata, e morì tra le braccia di due suore che lo avevano accompagnato a casa. Da qui nasce la superstizione di non indossare il giallo in scena, in quanto egli indossava un abito dello stesso colore.

Il divieto di inumazione cattolica per gli attori e commedianti che vigeva all'epoca fu aggirato, su intercessione del Re presso l'Arcivescovo, con la sepoltura di Molière nel cimitero di Saint-Joseph, ma ad una profondità di più di quattro piedi, misura che fissava l'estensione in profondità della terra consacrata.

Pray for Asst. Sec'y of State Christopher Hill, conducting talks in New York City today with N. Korean officials, working toward the elimination of their nuclear weapons program...

Pray for crews battling wildfires  and for citizens driven from their homes by fires in in Orange County, CA...

Pray for former Sec'y of HHS Donna Shalala and Sen. Bob Dole as they begin investigation into problems at Walter Reed Army Medical Center...

Pray also for Gen. Schoomaker as he steps up to the post of  Commander of Walter Reed Army Medical Center...






Pray for President and Mrs. Bush as they embark on a trip to Latin America, March 8-12, asking God to protect and empower the President throughout this trip.  He and Mrs. Bush will visit Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Guatemala, and Mexico and will meet with heads of state, dignitaries and members of the United States Diplomatic corps.  Pray for safety and strong relationships with heads of state.  For prayer points and a detailed  schedule of the President’s trip that you can pray through click HERE.


Pray for Former Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala and former Senator Bob Dole as they answer President Bush’s call to lead the President's Commission on Care for America's Returning Wounded Warriors, a commission to investigative problems discovered at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and other military medical facilities.  Pray that they and the other nine members of their commission will work together to reveal the truth and will assist wounded troops and their families as they seek to:



  • Improve the transition from deployment to other military service or civilian life

  • Ensure high-quality services for returning wounded service members and

  • Increase access to benefits and services


Pray for VA Secretary Jim Nicholson as he heads the Interagency Task Force on Returning Global War on Terror Heroes, seeking input from the Departments of  Veteran Affairs, Labor, Health and Human Services, Housing and Education, as well as the Office of Management and Budget and the Small Business Administration.



Pray for Army Undersecretary Pete Geren, now serving as acting Secretary of the Army following the resignation of Secretary Francis Harvey.  Pray for the wise selection and confirmation of a new secretary.  Pray also for Maj. Gen. Eric B. Schoomaker (brother of Army Chief of Staff Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker, ) who now steps up as commanding general of Walter Reed Army Medical Center.


Give thanks for the new First Freedom Project of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and the Department of Justice, praying that it will be effective in preserving religious liberties for all Americans.  The program will work to review cases, educate Americans and train local leaders about religious freedom for all citizens.



Pray for Secretary of State Rice and other State Department diplomats as they continue to work to persuade Iran to end its nuclear program, convinced that is intended for more than energy.  Pray that Iran will stop enriching uranium and will pursue peaceful goals for their nation and the region. 



Give thanks for positive news and answered prayer as North Korea continues to show willingness to meet and discuss the elimination of its nuclear program.  Pray for the follow-up to talks that have taken place in New York and Japan—for God’s help and intervention to bring a more peaceful world.



Pray for students, faculty and staff of Bluffton University, Bluffton, OH, coping with great grief in the aftermath of the tragic bus accident that killed seven members of the university baseball team along with the bus driver and his wife.  Pray for the comfort and strength of God, and for Jesus Christ to be glorified in the process of laying students to rest.  Pray for members of the University community as they gather for a campus-wide memorial service March 12, following the school's spring break.


Pray for our troops as they labor faithfully in harm’s way, seeking to secure the blessings of liberty for millions in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Pray for their families as they sacrifice for the cause of freedom, and pray God’s powerful protection over each one.
